The Turkish [professionals] community has evolved into various fragmentations since first stepping foot into this country. As students, AU Pairs or job hunters we all have different reasons for being here but our problems remain very similar; the language, our visa/work permit struggle along with trying to integrate ourselves into a new country. We have devised our own unique solutions for our problems. As each individual has evolved so has our community, hence many clubs/societies have been setup to cater for the different needs of our changing community. What I want to point out is the “prosaic” issue, both on the individual and organisational domain that has been neglected while seeking solutions.

For the first time in the UK, executive members from nine clubs/societies came together to organise a joint picnic. The first picnic organised on June 11th, was happily named "Hello Sumer". Sofra restaurant sponsored the event with an attendance of more then 250 professionals who gathered in St James's park to mingle with fellow friends while enjoying the sun and the delicious food by Sofra. Caravansary contributed to the second picnic (shockingly renamed to “Goodbye Summer”!) on September the 3rd, by playing their lovely music to all the guests that attended.

After a considerable e-mail tag regarding topics to discuss in the interview (no personal or opinion questions, Turkish Airlines being a state office) and promising that I will strictly stick to Turkish Airlines business, I finally meet him in the Turkish Airlines office in Pall Mall. He is accompanied by Handan Corekci, the Deputy Director.
