ATA Executive Committee

ATA was founded by a group of Turkish students, academics and professionals in London in 1994. The diversity of members' backgrounds and interests has increased in time, as the number of its members has gone up. Today, it's members are from various professions including law, medicine, banking, art, as well as university students from Turkey. ATA is based in London, but membership is open to anyone interested in it's aims and activities, regardless of country of residence.

  ATA’s OBJECTIVES

- Gather academics and professionals from the UK and Turkey under the same roof, and to create a platform for discussion on social, political and academic issues.
- Support Turkish students in the UK in their search for job opportunities and career prospects through our Careers Programme;
- Provide a friendly and social environment through various social activities.

Members are encouraged to participate in all social events and any suggestions about any ATA activity are always gladly received.

  ATA EDUCATION PROJECT

With the aim of helping to improve the educational attainment of Turkish students in the UK, the Education Group within ATA has so far been in touch with some of the boroughs of London with significant populations originally from Turkey and with Turkish schools. The project does not have specific events for the ATA members but is in the process of putting together a work programme and alternative education and mentoring project ATA members can be volunteers of.

ATA would very much like to hear from those who would like to volunteer for certain tuition and mentoring projects or have views that may benefit the project. Please do get in touch; ATA can't do this project without you!
