Sultan Abdulaziz was the first and only Ottoman King who visited England in 1867's
summer as an official guest of Queen Victoria. To his honour, an English
chorus with 1600 singers recited a Turkish "kaside" (a type of musical
praise poem) in London's Crystal Palace.

TBA elects
its new Executive Committee at AGM
Turkish Bankers
Association (TBA) held their Annual General Meeting at the halls of the
British Bankers Association on Liverpool Street on 11th November.
The AGM started with Sevki Acuner, the chairman of the association giving a
speech about the projects they'd organised in the last term and other
potential projects in the pipeline for TBA.
